16-year-old boy injured in shooting near Antioch house party

(KRON) -- Police in Antioch are investigating a shooting that injured a 16-year-old boy on Saturday.

The victim, a Brentwood teenager, was dropped off at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He told Antioch Police Department officers that he had left a house party just before 9 p.m. near the 5400 block of Prewett Ranch Drive when gunshots rang out. Multiple 911 callers reported hearing five or six gunshots.

The boy’s injury is non-life-threatening, police said.

“Officers processing the scene on Prewett Ranch Drive confirmed the shooting was connected to the nearby house party,” Antioch PD wrote. “During the preliminary investigation, officers also discovered that two nearby residences had been struck by gunfire.”

Dublin elderly couple suspected of killing son-in-law

No other injuries were reported in the shooting.

The suspected gunman has not been identified and remains on the run as of Sunday.
